History of Consumer Culture:
Objects, Desire and Sociability

The research group 'History of Consumer Culture' was set up in 2008 to explore the currently active and expanding academic field of the history of consumption. The group has been a forum for discussing diverse aspects of the history of consumption with particular emphasis on 'culture'. Under the aegis of NTT Publishing Ltd, the members of the group are currently preparing a monograph series 'History in the Cultures of Consumption', the first of which was published as Genealogy of Consumption and Desire in 2013.
