Students will keep diaries throughout the first semester.

Each class in weeks three-10 will incorporate: free conversation exchange (students will keep a diary throughout the semester, and use the diary to help prompt conversation topics during the free conversation exchange time). Later in the semester, students will be asked to bring in newspaper and magazine stories of interest and talk about them, in a structured setting; scene studies from films relating to the themes of the semester (the scene studies will encompass: close exercises, dictations, narrative writing, grammar and vocabulary), and one unit of text per week.
