Intermediate English Communication is a course designed for students who are already fairly good at English to further practice and improve their listening and conversation skills.

This course will present everyday functional language in various situations. Students will speak in controlled and guided activities with their classmates, which is a great way to make new friends. It should be fun! Later in the course, students should be free and able to express their ideas and opinions on a range of interesting and important topics. Interactive, communicative learning will be a feature of the classes, so good attendance will be required. We will occasionally make use of audio and video materials to prompt short class discussions.

Students will be assessed at the end of each semester based on attendance, assignments and performance in class. There will be a speaking test in the middle and at the end of the course.

Please come to class smiling with a positive attitude to actually SPEAK English. Show that you really want to improve your English by not missing too many classes. A good attendance record will be important in your grade each semester. Bring your textbook, a notebook and a good electronic dictionary to each class.
