授業の目的・内容

We will focus on developing your English speaking and listening skills. Presentations and discussion will form the main activities of this class. You will also do short reading and writing assignments. We will study topics connected to the ones in the textbook by using current newspaper articles and internet articles that your teacher finds. For homework, you should review the lessons each week by yourself. You will also have short homework assignments often.

授業方法

We will follow the textbook closely, discussing the topics presented, working through the activities, and doing writing and presentation tasks. Since you will learn new vocabulary and expressions, you should keep a vocabulary log in your class notebook. We will have several short tests and homework assignments.

You must bring the following materials to each class:
1. textbook
2. your notebook for this class
3. looseleaf paper
4. pens and pencils
5. an E-J/J-E dictionary (paper dictionary or electronic dictionary)
6. a clearfile holder (A4) for prints
I will communicate with you outside of class by email. Check your email often. You should email me (laura.macgregor@gakushuin.ac.jp) when you have questions about the class. You must email me when you will be absent. When you are absent, you must find out what you missed and prepare your homework for the next class. Late homework must be submitted BEFORE the next class.
