In class, students will develop good study habits for lifelong learning. The material will be online video podcasts that students should access in their own time. In class, we will look at the topics and language contained in the podcasts. You will carry out a survey of your classmates, and report the results to the class. We will move on to give opinions For, Against or Undecided on a proposition given out the week before. After that, we will carry out two-minute role-play conversations in pairs. Finally, in groups of three, you will carry-out a mini-speaking test using three questions you will have prepared as homework. You will have the opportunity to speak with all of your classmates during the course of the year. The podcast is available at www.ynu5photos.blogpsot.com

Continual assessment

Completion of the homework and participation in class will form 40 percent of the grade. Class tests will form 40 percent. Attendance will form 20 percent.

Students do not have to attend the first class, but it is important that you attend the session in the CALL classroom.
