In this course, you will focus on writing paragraphs. By the end of the course, you will be able to write several styles of paragraphs on a variety of topics. You will focus on form, with a particular emphasis on the nature of a paragraph, the topic sentence, supporting sentences, the concluding sentence, transitions, unity and sentence combining.

You will explore the writing process through the techniques of brainstorming, narrowing a topic, outlining, sequencing, and providing evidence and examples. Each week you will write an outline and paragraph. Peer editing will be used to improve students’writing skills.
