授業の目的・内容

To develop skills in academic presentation and discussion. Students will work through successive cycles of preparation and practice on a given topic, culminating in a poster or power point presentation. For the final presentations at the end of the second semester, students will use power point and talk for 5-7 minutes on a topic of their own choice, followed by 5-7 minutes Questions and Comments from the audience.

1. News Story Project - Introduction - students follow a news story for four weeks, ending in a presentation in which they summarise the events, explain the background and discuss the significance.

成績評価の方法

Evaluation
A. Attendance and active participation are essential. Three unexplained absences will result in failure.
B. Students are expected to evaluate their own effort and achievement after each presentation.

教科書

No textbook. Students will be expected to supply their own materials for making posters.

「アカデミック・プレゼンテーション演習(初級)」は、英語英米文化学科によってクラスの割り振りが行われる。2年生ガイダンスに必ず出席し、指示に従うこと。また、3年生以上の再履修者は英語英米文化学科事務室に相談すること。
