授業の目的・内容

The aim of this course is to help students develop their essay writing skills, and guide them in writing their graduation papers in English through a process approach. This includes brainstorming, planning, research, editing, and re-writing until the final outline is produced. Students will explore various forms of essays, i.e. comparison, cause-effect and argumentative. Students will work with partners or in groups to improve their written work.
Final exam will be an oral presentation of research paper in outline format. At the end of the term, students should be able to produce good outlines and well-organized essays.

授業方法

Class begins with an overview of the day's topics, evaluate homework, do timed-writing on specific issues then a lecture.

成績評価の方法

第1学期 (学期末試験) :試験を実施する
Participation, attitude, effort (20%), Homework & in-class work (30%), Final thesis presentation (50%)
Late homework will not be accepted, regardless of any reason whatsoever. Bring textbook to class.

「アカデミック・ライティング演習(上級)Ⅰ」は、英語英米文化学科によってクラス指定が行われる。この教科の履修を希望する学生は、3月25日(月)から4月4日(木)までの申請期間内に履修希望アンケートに回答し、仮登録の手続きを取らなければならない。手続きは英語英米文化学科事務室、及び3、4年生ガイダンスにて行うことができる。仮登録を申請せずに履修登録を行っても履修が認められないので注意すること。
