授業概要

This course aims to develop the four language skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing, review grammar, extend vocabulary and improve pronunciation. This is a course based on BBC news, including stories on global issues, human interest, and British culture and society.

到達目標

In order to stimulate good discussion, students require knowledge and critical thinking skills to express opinions. Through this course, students will acquire knowledge on a number of issues which would motivate them to do further research. Students will extend their vocabulary and improve their listening abilities. Students will also acquire presentation skills.

授業方法

The communicative method is used based around the DVD (sometimes other sources). Students work on activities individually, in pairs and groups.

準備学習

Complete the relevant exercises from the textbook before class (approx. 30 mins.). 
Research on specified topic before class (approx., 30-45 mins)

Assessment based on attendance, class activities, homework, oral presentations, class performance and attitude:100%
