授業概要

Students taking this course will get a chance to improve their fluency through many speaking exercises. Much of the material is based on previously learned concepts to help improve individual aspects of fluency. The main goal of the course is for students to participate in a free-flowing conversation of approximately 15 minutes without using any Japanese. In addition, students will be able to build their vocabulary, work on pronunciation and review grammatical concepts.

Students will practice all language skills in each class, but the focus will be on speaking and listening.
Students will increase their fluency and speaking confidence.
Students will increase their vocabulary.
Students will practice speaking in various dynamics such as one-to-one conversations or presentations.
Students will identify individual strengths and weaknesses.

授業方法

In most classes, I will present a grammatical theme, and thereafter students will have an opportunity to use the grammatical themes in speaking activities. In other classes, students will get a chance to present their ideas on specific topics.

準備学習

Depending on the class, preparation will differ. Presentations will require more out of class preparation time. Most in-class exercises are adjusted to the class level so that students feel comfortable completing the exercises.

平常点(クラス参加、グループ作業の成果等):40%
