授業概要

This course serves as an introductory course to special topics in American sociology such as Feminism, gun rights, the gay marriage debate, presidential elections etc... Students will be given weekly readings from an array of sources for which they will be given a short quiz in the next class. Students will be expected to actively participate in activities and perform presentations.

The goal of this course is to gain a better understanding of topics covered in American sociology. The class will be conducted solely in English so there will also be opportunities to expand vocabulary, practice essay writing, listen to authentic English materials, and participate in discussions....

授業方法

Students will participate in group-work discussions, as well as individual essay items, presentations and quizzes

準備学習

Students should familiarize themselves with the topic before class approximately 30 - 60 minutes
Students should study vocabulary and practice presentations approximately 60 - 120 minutes

小テスト:40%

All reading materials will be supplied by the instructor to be passed out before each class.

Students should be familiar with Microsoft Powerpoint or Apple Keynote software.
