授業概要

This course is designed to improve spoken and communicative English. It draws upon common conversation structures and provides ample opportunities to practice them in role play and pair/group work situations.
 
Classes will include discussion projects, and mid/end of term oral exams. The first semester will approach themes at advanced level English. Second semester will develop similar themes to an upper advanced level of English.

This course will give students the ability to improve English language skills including reading, writing, listening, speaking and discussion.
 
Upon completion of this course students will be able to express themselves in English on issues ranging from common conversations to academic topics from the social sciences.

授業方法

The teacher will introduce the week’s objectives and tasks
at the beginning of class which is generally followed by pair
or group work related to the textbook. The teacher will
periodically introduce new information throughout the lesson
and attend to individual student questions, and monitor student
progress throughout the lesson. The emphasis of the lesson
is on student English usage.

準備学習

Weekly course preparation is 45 - 90 minutes per week including
completion of weekly handouts. Pre-reading of articles or
assignments, research for writing assignments, preparation
for oral discussions and tests.
