授業概要

The Intermediate English Communication 1A course is designed for students who are already quite good at English to practise and improve their listening and conversation skills.

This course will focus on helping students to acquire new vocabulary and further develop their communication skills of listening and speaking through activities in pairs and small groups.

18 Favorite movies and actors/actresses.
19 Looking back: Personal history and childhood memories.

24 Around town: Prepositions of place. Explaining how to get somewhere.

授業方法

This course will present everyday functional language in various situations. Students will speak in controlled and guided activities with their classmates, which is a great way to make friends, so it should be fun. Later in the course, students will be encouraged to express their ideas and opinions on a range of interesting and important topics. Communicative-style learning will be a feature of the classes, so students should try and come to class feeling energetic and enthusiastic about learning and practicing English. We will also use a range of interesting audio and DVD materials for listening exercises and to generate class discussion.

準備学習

Students will be expected to review the key vocabulary and grammar in the textbook units before each class, and homework assignments from the textbook will sometimes be given.

第2学期(学年末試験):40%
レポート:20%
平常点(クラス参加、グループ作業の成果等):40%
