授業概要

This is a course in general oral communication and aims to consolidate and extend the listening and speaking skills developed in the first year. The materials we will use will be mainstream EFL activities in listening and speaking on general everyday topics. The year’s schedule below lists a range of topics commonly handled at this level but may be revised according to the response of the students.

We will sometimes start the class with a short news article to familiarize students with vocabulary in the news.

授業方法

Students will work together in pairs during the speaking activities and it is important that you make an effort to speak in English and maintain English throughout the lesson. This effort will be reflected in the grading

準備学習

Class preparation activities will vary week by week. Sometimes preparation will consist of reviewing the work in the previous class and sometimes it will consist of a short reading or quiz (about 30 minutes).

成績評価の方法

第2学期(学年末試験):30%
小テスト:20%
平常点(クラス参加、グループ作業の成果等):50%
A positive attitude and active participation in the class are expected and will be reflected in the grading.

教科書

There will be no textbook. I will distribute handouts each week.
