授業概要

The purpose of the course is to improve students' speaking and listening skills. There will also be time spent on reading and writing. A major part of the course is to help students to become more effective independent learners and develop critical thinking skills.

1. Function in an English-speaking environment reasonably well.
2. Read English texts and be able to understand the gist of the meaning.

The pace of this course will depend on how students are doing. We may go slightly faster or slower depending on students' needs.

授業方法

The aim of this class is for students to learn by doing. There will be plenty of pair-work and group-work. Sometimes, students will work alone. The teacher will serve mainly as a guide for the students rather than a lecturer simply spoon-feeding information.

準備学習

Students will be expected to review the work covered in the previous class and complete homework assignments.
