The goal of this class will be to allow students an opportunity to use spoken language. To express their ideas and to understand classmates comments. To learn the elements necessary for appropriate communication.

Many themes will be introduced and various information about the theme will be explained. Students will be encouraged to respond and add their own information based on experiences and background information. A video from the National Geographic will be shown. This real life showing should open students' curiosity and interest.

The theme will be explained with many surrounding ideas and information to encourage students to add their ideas. Listening practice is to lead to further speaking. Mini presentations will be given by individual students.
Verbal production is the target skill.

Watching the video should bring out many thoughts and ideas. Listening practice is to lead to extended ideas. The student is to prepare their ideas based on background experiences and knowledge on each theme. They are expected to talk about their information in the class and to listen to other students' ideas and respond.
