English major students will focus on using their English foundation to express their knowledge. Emphasis will be on speaking ability. Communication will require a confident personality to communicate with others. Sophisticated topics will provide information to discuss with classmates.

Students will gain information and knowledge about aspects of many fields of study. They will understand the elements necessary for communication with others and how to express their ideas and interest in what others say as well. Vocabulary and terminology will be introduced and the origin and meaning of these words and expressions in practical usage.

The pace and depth of each unit will depend on student input.

The topics will be explained fully. Students will talk about their knowledge in groups and then offer that information to the class. Students are to express an opinion about the subject and to repond to other students' remarks.

Students will be required to prepare their information about each topic. They will contribute information for the discussion. Students are required to read the passages out-of-class and be prepared for interaction.
