授業概要

上級リーダーに必要とされるさまざまな読解スキルを体系的に学びます。英字新聞の記事で世界のニュースに触れながら、世界が直面する様々な問題について考えます。また授業時に配布するプリント教材で、英語圏の社会的・文化的背景を学び、異文化理解を深めていきます。

到達目標

世界で起こった題材に関するニュース英語を読み・聞くことによって、さまざまな分野の情報を得て幅広い知識を習得すると共に、読解力を中心とした総合的な英語運用能力を培います。概要・要点を把握する、必要な情報を的確に読みとる、書かれた事実を正確にとらえる、未知語の推測をする、背景となる知識を活用する等の力を身に着けることを目標とします。
