This course is a follow up to first year intermediate courses.The next step is to learn basic discussion skills. The course will focus on everyday non-academic discussion topics. The course is four-skills. Speaking and listening will be the main focus. Some writing and reading will also be included.

The number of units we cover in the textbook may change. Other units are Unit 11 Interests, and Unit 12 Spending Money.

The course will be taught mostly in English. The course and course textbook are designed to maximize student involvement. In other words, students are required to actively take part learning. Pair and groupwork will be key activities.

Students must prepare for each class. The textbook is divided into two halves:
1. The paper textbook
2. The online textbook
Students must do the online work. Sometimes this will be a preview of the unit, and sometimes it will be follow up.
3. Extra readings will be distributed if necessary

Students should have a standard electronic or paper dictionary. Students should also be able to access an English / English dictionary.
