This course aims to improve students' ability to learn by reading and listening in English and to communicate using English. Priority will be given to listening and speaking. Themes will include international communication and national customs and perspectives.

You will learn skills and vocabulary to help you improve your ability to express your experiences and ideas in English and to help you engage in stimulating discussions. You will build on grammar skills you already have and learn new grammar to help you speak on a wide range of topics. You will have plenty of practice at listening to English and responding in English.

The class will be taught using a communicative methodology. Language will be introduced through either listening (in class) or reading (outside of class) and the language will then be practised in a fairly controlled way and finally produced in authentic situations.
