授業概要

This course will give English majors the opportunity to use their English in a practical, communicative way. The course will cover all four language skills, but will focus in particular on listening and speaking. Students will work in pairs or in small groups and there will be many opportunities for them to take part in discussions.
The textbook will be supplemented with songs or quizzes and students will write and perform their own skits at the end of each semester.

The objectives of this course are for students to improve their fluency and to gain more confidence in their ability to express theselves in English.

授業方法

Students will work in pairs or in small groups and will be required to participate actively in the classes. The teacher will give as much individual attention to each student as possible, but students will be expected to help and support each other in the learning process.

準備学習

Students will be expected to spend at least 30 minutes a week reviewing or preparing for the class. Depending on the topic being studied, they will be asked, for example, to check new vocabulary or to do additional research on the topic. Students will also need to practise their end of semester skits outside class time.

Skits:30%(Students will be assessed on their performance in a skit at the end of each semester.)
