授業概要

This course will increase your ability to communicate your own thoughts and ideas in English using a
variety of video-based materials while improving your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, as
well as greatly expanding your vocabulary. Activities will include cloze listening exercises, shadowing,
note-taking, interviewing your classmates, and answering discussion questions. You will also improve
your public speaking skills through oral presentations.

By the end of the semester, you should have significantly improved both your English listening and
speaking skills. You should also have increased your knowledge of vocabulary, idioms, slang and crosscultural
awareness. In addition, you should have significantly improved your ability to speak in public
and give successful oral presentations.

授業方法

The class will begin with a video listening/note-taking/cloze-exercise, followed by shadowing speaking
practice, asking and answering questions related to the video, and asking and answering discussion
questions in writing and/or in front of the class with a partner.

準備学習

Students must complete homework assignments before coming to class and review each lesson
(approximately 30 minutes). Students must read a minimum of 300,000 words at BeeOasis.com by the
end of the academic year.
