This course will presume an ability in English and a certain awareness of the points necessary for successful communication. The students will look at communication on a global scale and aim at removing barriers to inter-cultural communication. Students will consider cultural influences on body language, gender identity, and group interaction. The students will look at methods of successful communication across age groups and power groups both in work and relaxation environments. Students will be expected to give input from their own lives and to observe video and media materials providing cultural messages. The aim of the class will be to move nearer to achieving harmonious and successful communication in any situations the students may encounter.

Students will acquire an understanding of the meaning of communication and the skills necessary for good communication.
They will analyse their own skills and gain the means to improve and practice their skills unaided in the future.

The course contents will be adjusted to fit the class members and individual class students.

The course will stress observation and analysis of the world around. Students will research and experiment. The course will involve active participation with teacher guidance. Individual, pair and group work will be used in the classes.

The students should review work completed in previous lessons and prepare materials given.

平常点（クラス参加、グループ作業の成果等）：60％

Students will be evaluated on effort to better themselves, participation, attendance and course work.

Handouts will be provided for the students.
