In this class we will focus on paragraph writing. Students will learn how to write coherent paragraphs using topic sentences, support sentences, appropriate conclusions, and transition signal words. We will introduce six methods of organization: simple list order, time order, rank order, space order, compare and contrast, and cause and effect. You will need a notebook to use as a journal.
-
The course objectives are to master paragraph form in academic English. Students will learn how to write grammatically correct paragraphs in the appropriate format and register. We will also raise awareness of writing skills for tests such as Toefl iBT and IELTS.
