Academic Presentations II allows learners to build upon and the skills acquired in Academic Presentations I. Academic Presentations II provides learners with a full term of intensive oral communication built around designing presentations. Students will learn to communicate effectively in English by working in pairs every class. Students will design, research, and produce three English Presentations over the course of the term. Students are also expected to improve their listening skills outside class.

Academic Presentations II is designed to transform passive students of English into active speakers of English. Class participation is essential. Each week students learn and practice new oral communication and presentation skills. Class members spend up to 70 minutes each week speaking aloud in English. All class work is done in English only.

Please inform the instructor if you need to miss a class.

All classes are designed around the communicative method. The focus of each class is on sound production, fluency, clarity, intonation, and grammatical accuracy. We are not concerned with perfect English. We focus instead on effective communication.

Listening skills are essential for communication. Listen to English music, news, videos, etc. as often as possible before each class.

Weekly communication activities：70％

Final presentations：30％

「アカデミック・プレゼンテーション演習（中級）Ⅰ・Ⅱ」は、英語英米文化学科によってクラス指定が行われる。この教科の履修を希望する学生は、3月24日から4月4日までの申請期間内に「履修希望届」を事務室へ提出して仮登録をすること。仮登録をせずに履修登録を行っても履修は認められないので注意すること。詳細は学科事務室の掲示板を確認すること。
