授業概要

Self-directed learners form their own goals, select learningtools, and evaluate their achievements. However, students mustlearn to manage their studies and have access to the resourcesthey need to accomplish these three aims. This course willprovide learners with the knowledge, skills, and understanding toorganize and monitor their own learning more effectively. Learners will acquire techniques for: managing time; settingappropriate goals; reflecting and reporting on their learning; and adjusting their studies to meet their personal languagelearning needs. Instructors will evaluate progress and assistlearners in applying language learning techniques and principles,and using study tools effectively.

This course will introduce students to tools and skills for autonomous language learning. Students will make individual language learning plans based upon scaffolds and support from instructors. They will learn to monitor and evaluate their own English language learning while following their plans.

授業方法

Students are responsible for designing and carrying out their teaching plans by collaborating with their classmates, and the teacher will support students in the process.

準備学習

Students are expected to spend at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for their own Self Directed Learning.
They are also expected to spend at least 30 minutes a week for other assignments that will be posted on Moodle.

Please bring your laptop to class each week. Learning Resources Flipped Instruction Assignments will be online activities to help learners use resources to help them improve in the skill areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Specific activities will be assigned.
